Every day veterans come home to families and loved ones wondering what the next step will be in the life they put on pause for the greater good. Some go back to the conflict, some find work, and some try to pick up where they left off.

With the experiences they have encountered though, that may change the direction of their life, shedding light on new paths.

'Shutter Island' will most likely not go down in history as Martin Scorsese's best film, but it is excellent proof that the aging director still has plenty of tricks up his sleeves. After box office hits such as 'Gangs of New York', 'The Aviator', and 'The Departed', Scorsese's newest film offers movie-goers a unique, intense, and often terrifying perspective in the genre of suspenseful thrillers.

I had heard that when students attended Mount St. Mary's they found it difficult to leave the campus without feelings of nostalgia.

This weekend, after an entire day of running around the state of Maryland for my internship and to visit my parents, I sat down to enjoy a brief moment of television. Of course, in that one moment where you have set aside time to put the book down and push that paper due Monday back another hour, there is absolutely nothing interesting to watch on television.

From the pink ribbons that the cheerleaders wore in their hair to the pink warm-up shirts that the players wore prior to the game, the Mount community showed their support in raising awareness about Breast Cancer during Saturday's basketball games.

The women's team wore pink warm-up shirts in honor of the Women's Basketball Coaches Foundation, which is an organization whose mission is to promote and raise awareness about breast cancer.

It was no Miracle on Ice. You could consider it a "miracle" that the USA Olympic hockey team escaped with a 5-3 win over heavily favored Canada despite trailing them in shots 45-22. You could also stretch a miracle out of the fact that Canadian goaltender Martin Brodeur, lauded statistically as the greatest goalie in NHL history, let pass four unmethodical goals considering his 91% career save percentage.
